Drunk Driver Collides Into Two Women At Gramercy Bus Stop: NYPD
A drunk driver hospitalized two women waiting for a bus in Gramercy Thursday night, police said.
GRAMERCY, NY — A drunk driver careened into two women at a Gramercy bus stop Thursday night, police said.
The women, 71 and 31, were waiting to catch a bus on 23rd Street near Third Avenue when the driver of a Mercedes Benz identified as Mihai Kelemen, 41, suddenly veered onto 23rd Street and side swiped a Mitsubishi Sedan before jumping the curb and crashing into the women at 9:35 p.m., authorities said.
Emergency responders rushed the women to Bellevue Hospital, where the 31-year-old is in critical condition and the 71-year-old is stable, said officials.

Police said Kelemen, who is from Yonkers, was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a breathalyzer test.
