Naked Hillary Clinton Statue Re-Emerges in Union Square — Slightly Damaged

The statue's hands are ripped off from an onlooker attack last time it popped up in Manhattan on Oct. 18.

UNION SQUARE, NY — The graphic, naked statue of Hillary Clinton with hooves as feet reappeared in Manhattan Monday evening, this time her hands ripped off from the street fight from the last time the statue was erected in the Financial District Oct. 18.

A representative for Anthony Scioli, the artist who said he designed the statue, told the gawking crowd in Union Square Monday that the statue was a "joint effort between five people — four artists and one volunteer," The New York Post captured in a Facebook Live stream.

The statue depicts a cartoonishly grotesque interpretation of Hillary's naked body with the lower legs and feet of a horse.

The artist's representative on Monday described the group of people who created the statue as "men and women, Democrats and Republicans, to show political and social issues we're going through right now, like freedom of speech, the double standards of body shaming."

"The piece was in part a response to the naked Donald statue that has been seen around the country recently, and we decided to use the opportunity to bring serious social and political issues to light," the project's Facebook page says. "Double standards, the daily struggle against freedom of speech, and the artists of course wanted to show their dismay with current issues dealing with Hillary."

The representative for the artist announced to the crowd on Monday that they should hashtag #theempresshasnoshame to discuss the statue on Twitter and Instagram.

About the statue's missing hands, the representative told The Post: "The Republicans have taken it as her inability to get things done."

When the naked Hillary was last erected Oct. 18 outside the Bowling Green subway station, it was toppled by an angry woman on the scene before it was removed at about 8:30 a.m.

The statue was taken away by "counterterrorism officials," The New York Daily News reported, as the artist did not have a permit to display his work.

"That kind of reaction was the reason this piece was created but it is also the reason the artists did not want to be seen near the piece and have chosen to remain anonymous," the project's Facebook group said. "Many in the group are afraid of being personally attacked or harassed, and they are also honestly worried that it could affect their abilities to support their families."

The naked Donald Trump statue that popped up in Union Square this summer drew a substantial crowd and lots of controversy. A group of artists known as INDECLINE set up multiple naked statues of Donald Trump around the country, including one in New York City. The statue drew large crowds of onlookers in Union Square before it was eventually torn down by NYC Parks workers — but no one was nearly as angry as the New Yorkers who came across the Hillary Clinton version Oct. 18.
