NYU Med Student Found Dead In Dorm: Report

KIPS BAY, NY — An NYU medical student was found dead in her dorm room on Tuesday morning, and police sources believe that she hung herself, the New York Post reported.

The newspaper reported that an unidentified student was found dead inside Vilcek Hall, a medical student dorm located at 334 E. 26th St., on Tuesday. Police are investigating the incident as a suicide, the Post reported.

An NYPD spokesman confirmed to Patch that woman was found dead at the dorm's address on Tuesday morning, but said police were still investigating the incident.

Vilcek Hall is open to MD and MD/PhD students at NYU's Langone School of Medicine, according to the school's website.
