Park Ave. Doctor Sexually Abused Patient, Prosecutors Say

The doctor attacked a female patient inside his Flatiron office, according to police and prosecutors.

MADISON SQUARE PARK, NY — A Flatiron doctor has been arrested for sexually abusing a patient, authorities said. The accusation came a year after he avoided jail time on similar charges.

Dr. Eric Braverman is accused of assaulting a patient inside his office at 304 Park Avenue South, police and prosecutors said. He was arrested on Oct. 31 and charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse, authorities said.

Braverman, who runs an anti-aging clinic, "forcibly touched the sexual and other intimate parts of another person for the purpose of degrading and abusing such person," according to the criminal complaint filed against him. The New York Post first reported on the allegations.

Authorities said that, on July 20, Braverman took a female patient from his office's exam room and invited her into his private office for a massage, an NYPD spokeswoman said. Inside the office Braverman assaulted her, according to the criminal complaint.

Braverman was released on his own recognizance, although prosecutors asked that he be held on a $5,000 bail. A defense attorney for Braverman did not immediately respond to a message from Patch seeking comment.

Braverman was previously arrested on sexual assault charges in 2016, the New York Post reported. He was accused of attacking a woman inside his Tribeca apartment, where he reportedly forced the woman onto his bed and grabbed her breast, the Post reported at the time.

He pleaded guilty to harassment as a violation in September 2016 and avoided jail time, according to the post.

He is next scheduled to appear in court in December.
