Union Square Hit-And-Run Leaves Pedestrian Seriously Hurt: NYPD

A pedestrian is facing life-threatening injuries on Tuesday after he was injured in a hit-and-run collision, according to police.

UNION SQUARE PARK, NY — A pedestrian is facing life-threatening injuries after he was struck in a hit-and-run collision early Tuesday near Union Square Park, police said.

The 34-year-old man is in critical condition in the hospital. Police say he was walking near Union Square Park at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday when a car traveling east on 14th Street struck him as it was making a left turn onto Union Square West.

The car did not stop after hitting the man and drove away from the scene, according to the initial police investigation.

The pedestrian suffered injuries to his head and body, according to an NYPD spokesman.

No one has been arrested and police are still investigating this case.
