Prisoner Recaptured In Manhattan After Brief Escape, Police Say
The prisoner was recaptured by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, a police spokesman said.

GRAMERCY, NY — An escaped prisoner was recaptured on Wednesday evening after briefly slipping out of authorities' custody, police said.
The prisoner escaped after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and was recaptured by 5 p.m., an NYPD spokesman said.
The spokesman said it was unclear whose custody the man was in or how he came to escape. The prisoner was recaptured near 222 E. 24th St. in the Gramercy neighborhood.
