SEE IT: Shirtless Man Tries To Jump On FDR Drive, Stops Traffic
The man scaled a pedestrian walkway over the FDR Drive Wednesday and tried to jump into traffic, police said.
GRAMERCY, NY — A shirtless man climbed a pedestrian walkway over the FDR Drive Wednesday and tried to jump into traffic, police said.
Traffic in both directions on FDR Drive was shutdown when an unhinged man scaled a pedestrian bridge at 25th Street in Gramercy, authorities said. Police were able to take the man into custody at 12:47 p.m. after a tense standoff, officials said.

Emergency responders transported the man to nearby Bellevue Hospital. Traffic has resumed in both directions.
