Trump Protest in Union Square Planned for Wednesday Night
Over 8,000 people plan to attend and make sure they won't be silenced after Trump's win.

UNION SQUARE, NY — A mass protest against president elect Donald Trump will march from Union Square to Trump Tower Wednesday evening in reaction to Trump's shocking win Tuesday night. So far, the protest event on Facebook has at least 11,000 people planning to attend.
"Build a WALL around Trump's bigoted agenda!" the event description says. It's organized by Socialist Alternative, NYC, a national organization with a New York City wing that fights for immigrant rights, a raise in the minimum wage, and other issues of racial and worker injustice.
The organized protest starts at 6 p.m. in Union Square and will march to Trump Tower at 725 Eighth Ave., planning to arrive at 8 p.m.

Issues protesters will be fighting for are: a movement to stop racism, sexism, Islamophobia, and a wall between the U.S. and Mexico. They will demonstrate against the deportation of undocumented immigrants, for the Black Lives Matter movement, for the halt to the Dakota Access Pipeline, and for a stop to rape culture.
