Uber Will Bring Your Donations To Goodwill For Free On Saturday

Uber will pick up donations for free on Saturday and bring them to Goodwill.

NEW YORK, NY — If you're looking to avoid the downpour this week and get started on your spring cleaning, Uber might be able to help you out: The ride-sharing company will pick up your donations for free on Saturday and bring them to Goodwill.

Clothing and other household items that have been bagged are eligible for pickup. You just have to request a donation pickup via your Uber app. The promotion will last from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday. You can get more details about accepted donations and the donation delivery process here. The donations will be distributed to Goodwills throughout New York City and neighboring states.

The beleaguered company, which has been beset by a series of controversies in recent months, cautioned that demand for pickup will be high and availability will be limited. If you don't make Uber's cut, here are some other nonprofits throughout New York City that will take your donations. For more New York City news, subscribe to Patch news alerts here.
