Woman Struck In The Head With Laptop On NYC Subway Train, Police Say

NEW YORK CITY — A unidentified man is accused of striking a woman with a laptop aboard a Manhattan subway train in an unprovoked attack, according to police.

The incident happened on Dec. 9 on an uptown W train as it approached the Rector St. station in the Financial District around 10:20 a.m.

The 65-year-old woman was talking with the attacker before he took out a laptop from his backpack and struck her victim multiple times in the head, police said.

She was taken to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect remained on the train, was last seen exiting at Canal Street, where he fled on foot.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect on Tuesday. No arrests have been made.
