Shocking Video Shows Car Plow Into Man In Union Square Crosswalk
The driver stopped for a second before leaving the scene, police said.

UNION SQUARE PARK, NY — Shocking video shows an SUV plow into a pedestrian standing in a Union Square crosswalk, running him over and then driving away.
The victim, a 34-year-old man, was in the hospital with serious head and body injuries Wednesday, police said. He had been trying to cross East 14th Street at Union Square East and was hit as the car turned left to head north.
It happened at 1 a.m. Tuesday. Police released surveillance video of the hit-and-run on Wednesday.

The video shows the pedestrian left injured in the crosswalk. Police say the driver of the SUV briefly stopped the car before driving away. The driver never left the vehicle, authorities said.

The car involved was a 2016 Jeep Renegade, according to the NYPD.
