Woman Who Stole Rolexes From Her NYC Dates Sentenced To Probation

The woman was charged with a string of robberies from wealthy New York men with expensive watches.

KIPS BAY, NY — A woman who stole Rolex watches and other jewelry from her dates was sentenced to probation on Tuesday, prosecutors said.

Alexandra Martinez, 21, was charged with a string of watch and jewelry thefts from various dates after they brought her back to their apartments or hotel rooms. Martinez was sentenced to five years of probation as part of plea deal. She was also ordered to pay $9,000 in restitution, prosecutors said. As part of the deal, Martinez pleaded guilty to just one charge of third-degree grand larceny, according to the New York Post.

Martinez was arrested last year after police linked her to a string of thefts from wealthy men. In a 2015 case to which she pleaded guilty, police say Martinez met the restaurateur Jared Siemens at a bar before accompanying Siemens back to his Kips Bay apartment building. While her date was in the bathroom, Martinez grabbed a Rolex from a counter and ran from the apartment.
