Incumbent Sillitti Declares Victory In Assembly District 16
Incumbent Gina Sillitti (D) was challenged by Vibhuti Jha (D) and was one of few Dems in the county to declare a win Wednesday morning.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Voters went to the polls on Tuesday to elect a new Assembly member from the 16th NY Assembly District. Incumbent Gina Sillitti (D) was challenged by Vibhuti Jha (R) who is seeking his first term.
Sillitti declared victory early Wednesday after a close race. With all of Nassau's districts reporting, the totals were:
Gina Sillitti — 25, 833 votes

Vibhuti Jha — 24, 241 votes

Vibhuti Jha, 70, is a businessman and turnaround specialist and first-time candidate. Gina Sillitti was elected to the Assembly in 2020 who worked for the Town of North Hempstead and Nassau County before becoming an elected official.
Sillitti won the district in 2020 with 53.7 percent of the vote.
The 16th District includes Great Neck, Kings Point, Port Washington, Manorhaven, Flower Hill and Manhasset.
