"We are so pleased that our customers love our desserts so much that they share them with others and recommend our company," Malinow told Patch. "People know they can trust our products because they are made in a dedicated gluten-free kitchen and are celiac safe. It's hard for people who are gluten free to find not only something that is safe to eat but made with all natural ingredients and delicious, too."

Malinow began baking gluten free after her daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2005. Celiac disease causes an immune reaction to eating gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye.

People who eat gluten-free products, as well as those with unrestricted diets, both enjoying Malinow's gluten-free cookies is a "dream come true," Malinow said.

"I started baking gluten free about 15 years ago because the products on the market didn't taste good, and I knew I had to find a way to make desserts better for my daughter, who had to eat gluten free," Malinow said. "I recently did a tasting event where people tried our cookies. Many of these people were not even gluten free and raved about how good the desserts were and were stunned when they found out they were gluten free. A few said they wouldn't have normally tried gluten-free desserts but they looked so good they didn't realize they were gluten free. To know people who aren't gluten free search for our cookies is the best compliment."

Malinow said she and everyone at Bliss Pastries are "incredibly grateful" that their desserts make other people happy.

"We're so lucky and thankful for everyone's support that has helped us continue to grow and even change the perception of gluten free foods," she said.
