Car Overturns In Collision With Tractor Trailer In Melville
BREAKING: Both vehicles ended up in a wooded area on the North Service Road on Tuesday morning, fire officials say.
A car overturned after getting into a collision with a tractor trailer in Melville on Tuesday morning.
According to fire officials, members of the Melville Fire Department arrived to the accident to find the tractor trailer and overturned car in a wooded area on the North Service Road at 2:07 a.m.
Firefighters used multiple "Jaws of Life" heavy rescue tools to rescue the driver in the car. She was transported to Nassau University Medical Center by the Melville Rescue Squad.

Firefighters reached the truck driver by cutting through the brush. The driver was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Melville Rescue Squad.
About 25 firefighters and rescue personnel were on the scene with a heavy rescue truck, two engines, three ambulances and a paramedic unit. All units were under the direction of Chief Jason Bernfeld and Assistant Chief David Kaplan.
