Chanukah Celebrated in Dix Hills

An abundance of holiday joy.

Assemb. Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-South Huntington) recently visited the Chai Center in Dix Hills where he wished those attending a Happy Chanukah and discussed the importance of the holiday as well as religious freedom.

The highlight of the evening was the lighting of the outdoor menorah.

The Chai Center is one of New York’s most unorthodox orthodox Synagogues, Lupinacci pointed out. The center is open to Jews of all backgrounds and affiliations who wish to learn more about their Jewish roots. The center offers a wide variety of educational and spiritual opportunities, including, but not limited to, Torah classes and Hebrew School.

“Religious tolerance is something we all should practice,” Lupinacci said.

“Freedom of religion opens a door for Americans that is closed to many others around the world, and we should always remind ourselves how lucky we are for the opportunity to practice our religions in peace,” Lupinacci said.
