Doctor to Lead Cardiology Services

Dix Hills resident appointed cardiology intervention director at Winthrop-University Hospital.

Dix Hills resident Dr. Stephen J. Green has been appointed director of interventional cardiology at Winthrop-University Hospital.

Green joins Winthrop from the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System, where he most recently served as associate chairman of the Department of Cardiology.
 
Green has been listed as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for the past 13 years. He has trained more than 200 fellows in the practice of cardiology, and has been named teacher of the year twice in the past decade.

He has extensive experience in treating coronary artery diseases and managing risks factors for heart disease, including hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol. Green will lead Winthrop’s interventional cardiology services, as well as the hospital’s special interventional cardiac procedures, which deal specifically with the catheter-based treatment of heart diseases.

Green completed his medical degree at Tufts University. He continued his postgraduate training with an internship and residency at Cornell Cooperating Hospitals, North Shore University Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, followed by a fellowship in Cardiology at North Shore University Hospital.
