Half Hollow Hills High Schools Make List of Top 100 in State

Niche.com ranked the best public high schools in New York.

In a recently released report, Niche.com named Half Hollow Hills high schools as the top public high schools in New York.

Half Hollow Hills High School East came in at 42, and Half Hollow Hills High School West came in at 57.

Half Hollow Hills East scored “A+” in administration and policies, educational outcomes, and teachers. The school received an “A” in academics, extracurriculars, food, health and safety, resources and facilities, and a “B+” in sports and fitness. The school’s lowest score, a “B,” was for student culture and diversity.

Half Hollow Hills West scored “A+” in administration and policies, educational outcomes, extracurriculars and teachers. The school received an “A” in academics, resources and facilities and sports and fitness, and an “A-” in health and safety. The school’s lowest score, a “B+” was in food and student culture and diversity.

A Half Hollow Hills East student wrote, “I have had the best four years here!”

“I am very pleased with the teaching staff,” wrote a Half Hollow Hills West student.

According to Niche.com, a high overall ranking includes the following criteria:

  • Students are very happy with their experience in all aspects including academics, teachers, health, safety, resources, facilities, extracurriculars, sports, and fitness;
  • District schools are exceptional academic institutions in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes;
  • District schools are made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture;
  • Students are actively involved in a variety of extracurriculars and sports the district offers.
