Man Falls 20 Feet Off Ladder Onto Cement Floor In Melville

BREAKING: The man suffered serious injuries from the fall.

A man suffered serious injuries after he fell 20 feet from a ladder and landed on a cement floor in Melville on Monday.

According to fire officials, the 45-year-old man was inside a warehouse on Republic Road when the fall occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The Melville Fire Department responded to the scene and stabilized the man, who was then airlifted by Suffolk Police Medivac helicopter to Stony Brook Hospital.

Two ambulances, two engines as well as paramedic and fire police units responded to the scene.

Units were under the direction of Chief Jason Bernfeld and Assistant Chief David Kaplan.
