Nearby: Dan Marino, Clark Gillies Visit Commack Firefighters

Legendary quarterback Dan Marino stopped by the Commack Fire Department Wednesday to meet local volunteers after celebrating the grand opening of Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, of which he is a partner.

Along with the former NFL quarterback was another Hall of Fame athlete - Clark Gillies, who played for the New York Islanders during their four-year-run as Stanley Cup champions.

The firefighters, many of whom are long-time fans of both athletes, were thrilled to meet the legends.

"My life is complete now," Fire Chief Pete Paccione joked after meeting Marino. His wife said that his family makes sure to go to a Miami Dolphins game once a year.

Both athletes took the time to sign autographs, take pictures and meet the volunteer firefighters, including the High School football coach.

Marino also took the time to say hello to the Commack High School quarterback, Robbie Paccione. "It's just nice meeting him," he said. "I was kind of in shock," he said after getting to take photos with the retired quarterback.

Commack Fire commissioner Patrick Fazio said that he met Marino earlier that day at Anthony's Coal fired Pizza and that the NFL player said he wanted to come down to the fire department to meet the volunteers.
