Never Too Old for Holiday Spirit
Dix Hills resident wins gingerbread house competition at King's College.

Dix Hills resident Kyle Carruthers may be a college junior, but he still knows how to get into the Christmas spirit. He has a winning gingerbread house to prove it.
Carruthers, along with Amanda Lescowitch of Hazleton, built the grand prize-winning gingerbread house in the competition recently hosted by the King's College’s Dining Services.
In addition to constructing the house from cookie sheets and icing, the accounting majors had to write an essay on the meaning of Christmas. Carruthers and Lescowitch’s house earned 101 votes and received an Amazon Kindle e-reader.
