Racist Graffiti In Melville Under Investigation By Hate Crime Detectives
A resident said officials didn't do a very good job of removing the graffiti.
Hate Crimes detectives are investigating racist graffiti that was discovered on a residential street in Melville on Sunday morning, police say.
A resident of Danton Street was walking her dog near Brenton Avenue, when she discovered the words "I hate all blacks" and "KKK" spray painted on the road around 8:30 a.m.
The Town of Huntington was contacted to remove the graffiti. A local resident, Bridget Delano Stengl, told Patch that neighbors are unhappy with the removal attempt.

Stengl said only part of the graffiti was painted over with black paint.
"You can see 'I Ha-- All,' so just the 'ha' in hate is showing and the word 'all,'" she said. The words "KKK" were also painted over.

Residents of Danton Street are considering power washing the graffiti off the street, Stengl said.
