SUV Flips Several Times, Traps Driver In Melville Crash

Three people were hurt in the Sunday morning crash, fire officials say.

Three people were hurt in a two-SUV crash that caused one vehicle to overturn several times and trap the driver on Sunday morning in Melville.

According to fire officials, the crash occurred on Broad Hollow Road and the North Service Road around 7:40 a.m. Melville firefighters responded to the scene and used heavy rescue extrication tools to rescue the driver, who was transported to the Nassau University Medical Center by Melville Rescue Squad ambulance.

Two people in the second vehicle were also injured and transported to Huntington Hospital, officials say.

Firefighters were on the scene with a heavy rescue truck, two engines, two ambulances and paramedic responder. All units were under the direction of Chief Jason Bernfeld and Assistant Chief David Kaplan.
