Firefighters put out a truck fire on the Long Island Expressway on Thursday morning.
According to fire officials, a double trailer truck loaded with carpeting caught fire in the eastbound lanes near the Route 110 Exit at 6:30 a.m. The fire started in the breaks, damaging the outer walls of the trailer.
The Melville Fire Department responded to the scene with two engines and an ambulance and quickly extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported.
