Woman, Daughter Rescued From Overturned Vehicle On LIE
The mother, her 15-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son were hospitalized from the Saturday afternoon crash.
A woman and her teenage daughter were rescued from an overturned vehicle on the Long Island Expressway on Saturday afternoon.
According to fire officials, a SUV carrying a woman, her 15-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son crashed into the woods, knocked over a light pole and overturned on the westbound side of the Long Island Expressway, west of Bagatelle Road in Melville, at 1:06 p.m.
A volunteer EMT with the Dix Hills Fire Department and a Suffolk Police detective drove past the crash and stopped to provide help. Officials say they arrived at the scene to find the son on the side of the road, who told the men his mother and sister were trapped in the vehicle.
