Woman Killed In 2-Car Straight Path Crash

The woman was making a U-turn when the vehicle behind her crashed into the side of her car, police say.

A woman was killed in a two-car crash on Straight Path on Thursday night, police say.

According to authorities, Olga Quispe, 66, of Wyandanch, was driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla southbound on Straight Path, near Venedia Drive in Wheatley Heights, when she attempted to make a U-turn from the shoulder, causing the 2007 Chrysler 300 behind her to crash into the side of her car at 10:42 p.m.

Quispe was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Chrysler 300, a 20-year-old Dix Hills man, was not charged and was released at the scene with no serious injuries.

Both cars were impounded for a safety check.

The investigating is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call theFirst Squad at 631-854-8152.
