3-Year-Old Boy Dies In Fall From Harlem Building, Police Say
A boy lost his life Friday when he fell from a small building in Central Harlem, police said.

HARLEM, NY — A three-year-old boy lost his life Friday when he fell from a Harlem apartment building, police said.
The tragedy happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. Friday, when police were dispatched to a five-story building on West 133rd Street between Frederick Douglass and Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. boulevards.
Officers found the boy, Daniel Galeas, unconscious and unresponsive, with injuries indicating he had fallen from an elevated position. The boy was rushed to Harlem Hospital, but he could not be saved.

The Daily News reported that Daniel, who lived a few blocks away on Malcolm X Boulevard, was being watched by a person who lived in the 133rd Street building. He fell from a fourth-floor window where an air conditioner had recently been removed, covered only by a piece of cardboard, according to the Daily News.
The Medical Examiner will determine his cause of death, and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
