Deliveryman Shot Dead In Front Of Harlem Papa John's, Police Say
The 37-year-old Bronx resident was shot in the head outside his place of work.

HARLEM, NY — A pizza deliveryman was shot and killed Wednesday night in front of his Harlem workplace, police said.
Jose Alvarado, 37, was standing outside the Papa John's location on Amsterdam Avenue near West 145th Street around 10:30 p.m. when he was shot in the head, police said. Officers arrived on scene and found the Bronx resident unconscious and unresponsive, police said.
EMS rushed Alvarado to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Investigators are working to determine a motive behind the shooting and do not have a suspect identified, police said. Nothing was stolen from Alvarado, so it's unclear if the shooting was an attempted robbery gone wrong, police said.
