Elderly Man Attacked In East Harlem Bodega, Police Say

The man was hit in the head after a verbal dispute, police said.

EAST HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man wanted in connection with the assault of a 74-year-old in East Harlem, police said.

The man attacked the elder on the night of Thursday, June 14 inside a bodega on the corner of Second Avenue and East 110th Street, police said. After the two men engaged in a verbal dispute, the attacker hit the 74-year-old in the head with an unknown object, police said.

The suspect fled the bodega heading west on East 110th Street and was able to avoid arrest, police said. He is described as a man in his 20s standing 5-foot-7 with a slim build and black hair. He was last wearing a white t-shirt with a multi-colored design and red shorts.

The victim was taken to Metropolitan Hospital in stable condition, police said.
