Gunman Who Shot 2 Teens In Harlem Restaurant Is Sought By Police

Police asked for help finding the person accused of shooting two teenagers inside a fried chicken restaurant in Central Harlem last week.

HARLEM, NY — Police released surveillance footage on Sunday showing the alleged gunman who shot two teenagers inside a Harlem restaurant last week.

Wednesday's shooting happened around 8:40 p.m. at Mama's Fried Chicken, on the corner of West 116th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

Police said the two male victims, a 16-year-old and a 13-year-old boy, were sitting inside the restaurant when an unidentified person took out a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting the older boy in the back and the younger boy in the head.

Both were rushed to local hospitals, where they were in stable condition.

Video released by police on Sunday shows a person wearing a hoodie walking down the sidewalk and reaching into a sweatshirt pocket. The footage is grainy, but police asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
