Man Claims He Was Choked By Harlem Whole Foods Guard: Report

The man's lawsuit claims he lost consciousness for a minute after being placed in a choke hold by a security guard.

HARLEM, NY — A man suing Whole Foods claims that a security guard at the company's Harlem location put him in a choke hold, according to reports.

Orin Peters, 29, filed a lawsuit against Whole Foods Markets, a security company hired for the West 125th Street store and the security guard who allegedly choked himallegedly choked him, the New York Post first reported.

Peters claims that he was shopping at the Whole Foods on West 125th Street and Lenox Avenue in August when a security guard attacked him, the Post reported. The man's lawsuit states that he lost consciousness for one minute during the assault.

Whole Foods opened its Harlem location in July 2017. The 40,000-square-foot store is part of a larger retail complex and its opening drew large crowds.
