Man Hurt During East Harlem Home Invasion, Police Say

Robbers knocked on an East Harlem apartment door and forced their way inside the home when a 76-year-old answered.

EAST HARLEM, NY — Two men are wanted in connection with an East Harlem home invasion that left an elderly man injured, police said.

The robbers barged into a Second Avenue and East 117th Street home when a 76-year-old man answered a knock on his door during the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 17, police said. The apartment resident was knocked to the ground when the door was forced open, police said.

Once inside the apartment, the robbers stole $60 in cash, jewelry and a cell phone before fleeing the scene, police said. The victim suffered bruising to his legs, but refused medical attention at the scene.

Police describe the suspects as two men in their 30s or 40s who both stand about 5-foot-6. Photos of the suspects were released by police.
