Man Robbed, Assaulted At Harlem Bodega, Police Say

A man in his 20s was robbed outside a bodega and then assaulted after entering the business.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify two people wanted in connection with a robbery and assault that occurred at a Harlem bodega, police said.

A 21-year-old man was standing outside Alzaydi Deli on Seventh Avenue and West 129th Street on April 10 when two unknown men approached him, police said. The two men stole $30 from the man's jacket pocket, police said.

About 10 later, the victim entered the bodega and was followed inside by the two robbers, police said. One of the robbers punched the man in the face, threw him to the ground and stole his cellphone, police said.

After the assault, the two men fled the store in an unknown direction, police said.

The suspects are described as two men in their late teens standing about 5-foot-10 with slim builds, police said. One of the men was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and dark green Nike sneakers and the other man was last seen wearing a light colored shirt, a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants, police said.
