Man Shot Dead In Harlem Apartment, Police Say

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is investigating the death of a man who was found shot in his Harlem apartment this weekend, police said.

Officers responded to a West 129th Street building within the St. Nicholas Houses development early Saturday morning to find 49-year-old John Mingo lying on his bedroom floor and suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. EMS pronounced the man dead on the scene, police said.

The NYPD investigation into the death, which has been declared a homicide, is ongoing and no arrests have been made, police said.
