Man Shot On East Harlem Street Corner, Police Say

Two people fled the scene of the shooting, police say.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A man was hospitalized early Thursday morning after being shot on an East Harlem street corner, police said.

The victim, who was not identified by police, was shot in the butt shortly after 2:15 a.m. on the corner of East 112th Street and Park Avenue, an NYPD spokesman said. Two men were seen fleeing the scene of the shooting, the spokesman said.

EMS rushed the victim to an area hospital in stable condition, an NYPD spokesman said. The NYPD investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and a department spokesman could not offer information about suspects or the motive behind the shooting.
