Man Shot In Harlem Apartment Building, Police Say

A person is in custody for the Tuesday morning shooting.

HARLEM, NY — One person is in custody in connection to a Tuesday morning shooting in a Harlem apartment building, police said.

Shortly after 7:15 a.m. a man was shot inside 533 W. 151st St, a residential building located between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, an NYPD spokeswoman said. A man was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, the spokeswoman said.

The man in custody has not yet been charged with a crime, an NYPD spokeswoman said. The motive behind the shooting is currently unknown.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition, an NYPD spokesman said.
