Man Shot And Killed In East Harlem, Police Say

A 23-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday in front of the East Harlem building where he lived, according to police.

The shooting happened around 7:41 p.m., when police responded to a 911 call reporting a man shot on the corner of East 110th Street and Madison Avenue.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A young man was shot and killed in East Harlem Sunday evening in front of his own building, police said.

The shooting happened around 7:41 p.m., when police responded to a 911 call reporting a man shot on the corner of East 110th Street and Madison Avenue.

Officers found the victim, Jayquann Francis, lying unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to Harlem Hospital, but could not be saved.

Francis lived just steps away at 1660 Madison Ave., police said. Authorities have made no arrests in his killing but are continuing to investigate.
