Man Shot, Killed Outside East Harlem Housing Complex: Police

EAST HARLEM, NY — A 21-year-old man was fatally shot outside an East Harlem public housing complex Wednesday evening, police said.

The shooting happened around 8:40 p.m., when police got a call reporting an assault at 2375 First Ave. — part of the NYCHA Wagner Houses, near East 121st Street.

Officers found the victim, who had been shot once in the head, reportedly near the playground outside the building. He was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police had not been able to identify the victim as of Wednesday evening and had made no arrests, but said an investigation is ongoing.
