Man Stabbed With Pen On Harlem Subway Platform, Police Say

The man was stabbed in the mouth during a robbery, police said.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man who stabbed someone in the mouth with a pen during a robbery on a Harlem subway platform, police said.

A 36-year-old man was standing on the northbound platform at the West 125th Street and Lexington Avenue subway station on the night of June 28 when we was approached by the alleged robber, police said. The robber stabbed the man in the mouth with a pen and grabbed his belongings, police said.

The robber grabbed the victim's cellphone and threw the rest of his belongings onto the train tracks before fleeing the station, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was not hospitalized, police said.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s standing about 6-feet-tall and weighing about 190 pounds, police said. The man, who had his hair in a bun, was last seen wearing a beige t-shirt and dark pants.
