Man Tied Up During East Harlem Home Invasion, Police Say
Two men forced an East Harlem resident into a back room of his apartment at gunpoint before looting the home.
EAST HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify two men involved in an East Harlem home invasion-style robbery, police said.
A 26-year-old man was inside his apartment on East 108th Street and Fifth Avenue on the morning of Aug. 31 when two men barged in through an unlocked front door, police said. The unknown men pointed guns at the resident, forced him into a back room and tied up his hands, police said.
The men then looted $1,000 cash and an iPhone from the apartment before fleeing the scene, police said. The apartment's resident refused medical attention at the scene of the robbery, police said.

The apartment's front door was left unlocked because the resident picked up his rent envelope from the hallway and took it inside his home, police said.
Police released photos of the two suspects (seen above) on Thursday. One of the men is described as standing about 5-foot-5 and weighing 145 pounds, police said. He was last seen wearing a gray cap, black shirt, gray pants and black sneakers. The other suspect is described as standing about 5-foot-7 and weighing about 160 pounds, police said. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt with a gray hood, blue shorts and multi-colored sneakers.
