Pedestrian Critical After Being Hit By Car In East Harlem: Police
A woman was crossing East 125th Street and Madison Avenue when she was hit.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A woman was critically injured when she was hit by a car Thursday in East Harlem, police and fire officials said.
The 43-year-old woman was crossing East 125th Street and Madison Avenue around noon when she was struck, an NYPD spokeswoman said. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the woman suffering trauma about the body "consistent" with a motor vehicle crash, the spokeswoman said.
The woman was taken to Harlem Hospital in critical condition, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The driver stayed on the scene of the collision and criminality is not suspected, an NYPD spokeswoman said. No charges have been filed against the driver, and it's unknown whether the driver or the pedestrian had the right of way at the intersection.
