Police Seek Gunman Who Shot At Teen Boarding Bus In Harlem

New video shows the person accused of shooting at a 14-year-old boy boarding a bus in Harlem last week, narrowly missing him.

HARLEM, NY — Police on Thursday released surveillance footage showing the person accused of firing shots at a teenager boarding a bus in Harlem last week.

The Oct. 14 shooting nearly ended in tragedy. The intended target — a 14-year-old boarding an M1 bus at West 139th Street and Lenox Avenue — was grazed on the head by one of the bullets.

The bus driver, meanwhile, was nearly hit, with one shot landing on the protective shield covering the driver's cabin and the other hitting the bus's front windshield.

The video shared by police shows a person wearing a black hoodie firing shots from the sidewalk, then starting to run away. According to authorities, the gunman fled eastbound on West 139th Street.

The unidentified gunman is wanted for attempted murder, police said.
