Teen Randomly Attacked Inside Harlem Building Lobby, Police Say

The 17-year-old was repeatedly punched, kicked and stabbed during the assault.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a group of men wanted for the random assault of a teenager in Harlem last month, police said.

A 17-year-old boy was inside the lobby of an apartment building on the corner of Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and West 119th street on Sunday, March 31, when he was approached by a group of five men and attacked at random, police said. The teenager was repeatedly punched, kicked and stabbed by the group before they fled the restaurant, police said.

Three of the suspects attacked the boy while two stood lookout by the apartment building's entrance, according to NYPD video.

EMS rushed the boy to St. Luke's hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police recently released surveillance photos of the suspects (seen above) taken by a security camera near the scene of the assault. All the suspects are described by police as men between the ages of 18 and 20.
