Donate Blood for Mets Tix This Week in Hauppauge

A look at upcoming events and activities in the Hauppuage area this week.

Legis. John M. Kennedy, Jr., Minority Leader of the Suffolk County Legislature, in conjunction with Long Island Cares and Long Island Blood Services, will hold the Annual Bloodfest: Blood and Guts Tour Blood and Food Drive Wednesday. Any person, who donates blood or food, will receive free New York Mets tickets in the mail for an upcoming game, as well as an entry into a raffle for Super Bowl tickets to the championship game.

National Night Out Against Crime

The Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct, which includes Hauppauge, will host a 'National Night Out Against Crime' in the parking lot next to Target located at 98 Veterans Memorial Hwy. from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday. This is a free, fun, family event that will have specialized units from the police department, local fire department, the Commack Coalition of Caring and various community groups.

Farmers Market
Starting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, shoppers can find fresh produce including a variety of fruits and vegetables at TFCU (102 Motor Pkwy., Haupauge). Then, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., a new wave of vendors, offering everything from fresh crepes, to wines, seafood, breads and more, will be on site. Stop for the fresh, local goods. 

Re-dedication Ceremony of the Peter McCann Gillard Room
Join The Smithtown Library in celebrating the re-dedication of the 
Peter McCann Gillard Community Room Wednesday at the Smithtown Main Building, at 11:30 a.m.. Gillard was Library Director from 1978 to 1988.
