Former Student Brought Imitation Rifle To Hauppauge High School Grounds: Police
The woman took a selfie of herself holding an imitation rifle in front of her old school, causing it to go on lockdown, police say.
HAUPPAUGE, NY — A woman was arrested after Suffolk police said she posed with a spring-loaded imitation rifle in front of her old high school in Hauppauge on Tuesday.
The former student, 18, took a selfie of herself holding the imitation rifle in front of Hauppauge High School, at 437 Lincoln Boulevard, around 11:20 a.m., police said. The school went on lockdown, police said. No one was injured, police said.
The woman, from Hauppauge, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

She was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
