Hauppauge Shows Eagle Spirit Ahead Of Homecoming

Students had fun at the pep rally, playing games, watching performances, and crowning Mr. and Miss Hauppauge.

HAUPPAUGE, NY — Hauppauge High School held a spirited pep rally Wednesday in preparation for their Saturday homecoming.

The chamber choir kicked off the event with their rendition of the national anthem. Students then cheered from the stands as the cheer team, kickline team and marching band took to the football field with energetic performances. Next, the school’s varsity sports teams led by their senior athletes were met with thunderous applause as they processed one-by-one across the football field. Military members from Smithtown’s U.S. Army Recruiting Office took part in the day’s fun, shooting T-shirts into the crowd with a T-shirt cannon.

Groups of students were then chosen from the stands to participate in friendly competitions, including potato sack races, the egg-and-spoon race and seeing which team could score the most football kicks through the goalposts.
