Hauppauge Students Dissect Frogs In Biology Lesson
Students first practiced by dissecting a chicken wing and then a sheep's heart after they learned about the cardiovascular system.
HAUPPAUGE, NY — Seventh grade students in Michael Pernice's Regents living environment class at Hauppauge Middle School dissected frogs as part of a hands-on science curriculum on Dec. 18, the school district announced.
The dissection marked the culmination of a unit focused on human body systems.
Before the frog dissection, students first practiced their skills by dissecting a chicken wing and then a sheep’s heart after learning about the cardiovascular system. In preparation, students participated in a virtual dissection to familiarize themselves with the process and body parts they’d encounter.
