Safe Summer Nights; School Supply Drive

A look at upcoming events and activities in the Hauppauge area this week.

Suffolk Federal Credit Union School Supply Drive
In support of Long Island Cares, Inc., Suffolk Federal Credit Union is hosting a school supply drive from Aug. 1-31 to benefit children in underserved communities. Residents are asked to bring school supply donations to the Hauppauge location on Veterans Memorial Highway. Requested donation items can be found at www.suffolkfcu.org/events.php. TFCU Farmers Market
Enjoy locally grown produce, baked goods, jams and jellies, freshly-made crepes, seafood and more at the Teachers Federal Credit Union hosts the market in its parking lot, located at 102 Motor Parkway. Open 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursdays.

Safe Summer Nights Program
Teens in grades six through 12 can participate in the Town's Safe summer Nights Program at Hoyt Farm July 30 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., where they can make new friends, play sports, and participate in theme nights in a safe, supervised, drug and alcohol free environment. Contact: Kelly DeVito at kdevito@tosgov.com or 631-360-7595 for more information. If it is raining, call after 4p.m. to check the status of the program.

HGTV Casting for "Rescue My Renovation"
New York-based production company is looking for local homeowners who have been the victims of bad contractors. Boy Wonder Productions is casting the second season of "Rescue my Renovation," an HGTV series where a crew of contractors hopes to turn renovation nightmares into dreams come true.
