Woman Killed In Head-On Collision In Suffolk

A driver making a left turn crashed into the woman's car, police say.

HAUPPAUGE, NY — A woman was killed in a collision in Hauppauge on Saturday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

A 62-year-old Shirley woman was driving a 2015 Jeep westbound on Hauppauge Road when she made a left turn onto Terry Road and collided head-on with a 2016 Honda CR-V being driven by Carol Anne Faulhaber, 71, of Ronkonkoma, at 2:08 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Faulhaber was pronounced dead at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore.

The Shirley woman was brought to another hospital to be treated for injuries that are not life-threatening, police said. A male passenger in the Shirley woman's Jeep also suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.
