• Lawler Leads House Passage of Bill Renaming Haverstraw Post Office After Paul Piperato (house.gov) — Haverstraw’s Main Street post office is a step closer to being renamed in honor of longtime Rockland County Clerk and public servant Paul Piperato, after a bill passed the U.S. House. The measure, led by Rep. Mike Lawler, would designate the 86 Main Street facility as the Paul Piperato Post Office Building if approved by the Senate. 
• Years-Long Hunt For Parking Lot Gunman In Spring Valley Ends In Prison Time (dailyvoice.com) — A Haverstraw resident has been sentenced to five years in state prison after pleading guilty to a weapons charge tied to a 2020 parking lot shooting in Spring Valley. Spring Valley and Haverstraw police, working with federal agents, arrested him in March, and authorities say the firearm used in the incident has now been recovered.
